I remember High School like it was yesterday. That’s not to say it’s a good thing. Not really bad either, I guess… There are many parts of school I would rather just forget about all together. I was not the most popular kid in school. Not close to it actually but I wasn’t the least popular either. That’s something… I had it pretty good as far as school was concerned but I wouldn’t want to do it again for the life of me if I were given the chance.
As I recall, there was a lot of drama in High School. That was not only due to the Thespians or acting class. It was because every where you look there is a complex mixture of personality types. Not only that, these young people are not fully prepared to deal the pitfalls of life yet. The social etiquette has not been fine tuned for most of these young people yet causing an assortment of situations that put to the test boundaries of social acceptability. That is really what High School is all about preparing you to be able to interact with people in society without the overwhelming emotions of anxiety, fear, sadness, insensitivity, peer pressure, or lack of trust.
Naturally, all of these emotions become easier to control with age and experience. Many people do not fully understand that school is not only for the advancement of education but the advancement of social ability as well. Way too many people fail to understand this and I feel that it is growing in to a major concern for society as we know it. People have just forgotten how to get along with one another. Life is certainly much too short to live under those circumstances. There must be a better way. I am sure we can find it.
Most people don’t even realize that is one major aspect of your life High School actually can create significant improvement. There are so many types of people there that during your tenure you should get at least some experience dealing with a great assortment of them… We all know that there are certain types of people that we have the hardest times getting along with. It is to our benefit to learn to be able to get along with these people most of all. If you can get along with them, you can likely get along with anybody. That is a life skill to have.
You’ll find that if you take the time to understand where other people are coming from before you judge them that it is easier to get along. The less you prejudge any given situation, the better you are likely to be able to handle it. It is probably best you just left the chips fall where they may.
